Dr. Steph here. From the outside, I had it all together.
A thriving career at NASA, incredible travel adventures with my partner, a beautiful home, and a doctorate in psychology.
But inside, it was a different story.
I felt anxious, overwhelmed, and exhausted trying to hold everything together. My mind raced to worse-case scenarios and I crumbled in triggering situations. I was ashamed that, even with years of training and therapy, I still couldn't shake the anxiety and worry.
Therapy helped me understand my anxiety, but I was still stuck in it. Part of me honestly felt like I was broken because I struggled with reoccurring emotional breakdowns where I couldn't stop hyperventilating.
I remember crying in the shower.
I felt hopeless. And I thought that I was just an anxious person.
I took a workshop that completely changed my life. It shifted how I understood the nervous system. And I realized the problem wasn't me. It was the way I'd been taught to fight what my body was trying to protect me from.
For the first time, I stopped fighting my anxiety and started working with my body. With the support of a coach, I learned to apply what I'd discovered in my daily life and the shift was undeniable.
People noticed. My energy changed. I finally felt confident in myself.. I could walk into situations that once triggered me and stay grounded. I trusted myself.
The best part? What I discovered wasn't just about me. It was a process any woman could follow — one that works even if you've tried everything and nothing has stuck.
That transformation led me to create BRAVE Academy!
So others could experience the same freedom I did: calm that lasts, confidence that's natural, and a body that feels calm.
